This pair of Ukes is almost ready. All I have to do is make bridges for both, and basically string them up. They both have Piezo Pickups, so can be played acoustically or electric. The Ashton is a Concert Uke, and the Punch is a Tenor Uke. Hopefully will have them finished next weekend, and on my Etsy site for those interested. These are numbers #93 & #94. Just a dry fit for now, but you can begin to see what these 2 Ukes will look like, The Punch has a Purpleheart fretboard, and will have brass corners all around. The Ashton has a Bobinga Fretboard. Have been working on this Tuna Can Resonator, and wanted to figure out how to attach the neck without visible screws on the front or back. Came up with this idea, similar to a truss rod cover, except it's on the body instead. Underneath will be 3 screws securing the neck to an oak block in the body. Should be functional and good looking I think!Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02558808580291499947noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6087648271370312688.post-11719828024552516302012-10-14T12:51:00.000-07:002012-10-14T12:51:28.140-07:00Muriel Cigar Box UkeJust finished up #81 today, a Tenor Uke made from an Antique Muriel Senators Cigar Box. It has an Oak Neck and Bobinga Fretboard. The nut and bridge pieces are made of bone. The fret markers are abalone. Bridge has a piezo rod in it for hooking up to an amp! Should hit my Etsy site next weekend.<br />

Time to get back to these two Ukes I started awhile ago. Got busy with other things. They are old vintage boxes that I've been working on. Necks (Bobinga Fret boards) are getting close as well.
